Camping!!

We went camping at Pokagon state park the last week in July. It was Olivia's first camping trip and she did really well! Better than she does at home!
Here is our camping site. We went with to other couples from church and their kids. We had two big campsites with bathrooms and showers in the little brown building that is in the background.

Here is our tent with Olivia on the "door step" We will have to get a bigger tent next time we go camping. Our air bed and suitcase fits in this one and thats about it!

She went right for the dirt, like normal, and ate it.

This was our hiking trip we went on with the others couples. She loves looking at the trees as they move so she had a good time on our hike. About ten minutes into the hike we stopped at a play ground so the kids could play. Well while we were sitting there Olivia started screaming and we had forgot her pacifier! So Kevin actually ran back to get it! He was really tired after that but Olivia was happy.

I thought that this ended up being a good picture with the trees in the background. This was after her nap she took on Daddy during our hike.

Here is the inside of our tent. She liked playing on the bed. If she got fussy or irritated, I just went to the tent with her and she was fine.

Making breakfast and coffee with Dad the morning we left.

This is a tent that my mom gave me which was really nice because it was big enough for Olivia to crawl around in. She liked this much better than the playpen.

Here we are at the beach. It a really nice beach for a state park.

It was about a five minute walk to the beach from our campsite. When we left the campsite Olivia was sleepy but we could not get her to go to sleep. We were just about to the beach when I looked down at Olivia and she had her head laying down on the front of the stroller, sleeping! She took a good nap while at the beach.

She liked the sand! Apparently its good, just like dirt. She was eating handfuls of it. I had to stand up so she could not get the sand.

Heres Olivia and a new friend, Lydia. She is a month younger than Olivia. They liked looking at each other, and Olivia liked Lydia's clothes, she would not let go of her!

We're home! Olivia in her new hat trying to get the cooler.

Look at ME!

This is one of her favorite toys to play with. She can stand behind it and take a couple of steps with it. She also tries to pull herself up on it, but its a little high for her.
She was watching TV here.

Not sure, but I think she is showing off her leg. She didn't fall, even though it looks like she is, she just grabbed back on to the handle.

Eating puffs...She does not get all of them into her mouth yet

I gave her a container of her frozen peas to keep her happy so that I could do the dishes. She chewed on the container trying to get some of the peas, which worked for awhile..

Then the peas fell out of the container, and that works much better to chew on! She liked it for about 15 minutes, then her hands got to cold and made her mad and I had a big mess to clean!!

FOOD!

I made a lot of baby food last week and Olivia sat on the table and "helped" me. She liked watching the blender but is scared of it when its on high.
Here are a couple of pictures pf her sitting in the middle of the food.

She was trying to get the food.
We made green beans, peas, sweet potato, carrots, peaches, pears, bananas, plums and turkey. Yeah, it took forever to cook and blend all that food, but she can handle some thickness and texture now so I didnt have to blend it forever to puree it.

I let her have this banana long enough to take a couple of pictures then took it and helped her eat it. She just sucked on it and got little pieces. She ate about half the banana this way.

She actually managed to eat quite a bit off the top.

Here she is going for the sweet potatoes!

And she got some! She sat there grabbing and eating them. It entertained her for a few minutes.

I let her sample the food as I was making it.

She was a real mess once she was done, so I gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. She had a ball in there! It was the first time she had a bath in the kitchen sink.

she didn't make it to the end of making all this food even though she was up for three hours!

6 Months old, A day of firsts

We gave Olivia finger food for the first time and she loved it! She is eating her baby toast here. She ended up eating about half of it. She was able to chew little pieces.

But she absolutely LOVED the green beans. She would get mad when they were gone, so I just kept giving her more. A lot did end up on the floor but she was able to eat most of what I gave to her. She just chewed off little pieces.

Here is some of her mess! There was also some on the walls, on the floor and mashed into her clothes.

I think she was proud of her mess she had made.

Then she had a quick bath in the bathroom sink. She liked playing with the faucet.

Olivia started 'talking' yesterday. She started saying 'BA' 'BA' in the morning and last night she started 'MA' 'MA'.
And she went from sitting to standing all by herself for the first time this morning!
She has had a busy six months! :)

Pictures,

So I have this blog to share pictures of Olivia and write about what she is doing. I cannot do that with photobucket. That only lets me write a little bit about the picture. I will still be putting her pictures onto photobucket and using this for the pictures with comments.

You may also leave your own comment if you would like.
I hope you enjoy this!
